UK inflation rate holds steady at 2.2% in year to August

Higher pay deals – like those we’ve just been hearing about – have been driven by the cost of living crisis of the last 2 years.
But inflation is now moderating: the rate held steady at 2.2% in August.
The latest figures come just ahead of the Bank of England’s next interest rate decision tomorrow.
